NANS Denies Links to Armed Suspects, Demands Fair Investigation
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Southwest Zone D, has reacted to the recent arrest of four individuals found with weapons and charms in a vehicle bearing the association’s plate number, urging a thorough investigation before linking the suspects to the student body. While condemning the incident, NANS emphasized that it does not condone crime or violence and cautioned against hastily associating the suspects with the association without proper verification. The group criticized the public circulation of images and premature labeling by the police, stating that such actions are defamatory and misrepresent the values of NANS, which it described as a law-abiding organization committed to education, nation-building, and student rights.
