The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the approved fares for the 2025 pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, with varying rates for pilgrims based on their geographical zones.
According to a statement released on Monday in Abuja by NAHCON’s Assistant Director of Information and Publication, Fatima Usara, intending pilgrims from Southern states will pay ₦8.7 million, while those from Borno and Adamawa zones will pay ₦8.3 million. Pilgrims from other Northern zones will pay ₦8.4 million.
The commission’s chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Usman, highlighted that the fare structure was the outcome of extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including the presidency and state pilgrims’ welfare boards, to ensure fairness and inclusivity.
“The 2025 Hajj fare for Borno and Adamawa zone’s intending pilgrims is ₦8.33 million. Similarly, the cost for intending pilgrims from the Southern states is ₦8.78 million, while pilgrims from the Northern zone will pay ₦8.46 million. This modest effort was achieved after extensive consultations to ensure inclusivity in the decision-making process,” the statement read.
NAHCON urged prospective pilgrims to adhere to Saudi Arabia’s Hajj guidelines, register early, and make timely payments to avoid any inconveniences. For detailed fare breakdowns and additional information, pilgrims were directed to visit NAHCON’s official website or contact their respective state pilgrims’ welfare boards.
Prof. Usman expressed gratitude to the presidency and other stakeholders for their support in ensuring a seamless Hajj process for Nigerians. He reaffirmed NAHCON’s commitment to delivering an organized and smooth pilgrimage experience.
The announcement comes as part of the commission’s preparations for the 2025 Hajj season, with NAHCON also finalizing arrangements for airlifts and accommodations in Saudi Arabia.
