Morocco Set to Host 2024 Confederation of African Football Women’s Champions League Finals
Morocco has been chosen to host the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League finals, as announced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
This prestigious tournament is set to take place from November 9 to November 23, showcasing some of the best women’s club football across the continent.
This will not be the first time Morocco has hosted the competition; the country previously held the 2022 edition, which was a successful event. During that tournament, Mamelodi Sun downs from South Africa emerged as the champions, highlighting the competitive nature of African women’s football.
This year, eight teams will compete for the coveted title, with Nigerian champions Edo Queens among the contenders as the tournament promises to be a thrilling display of talent and determination as clubs battle for supremacy.
In terms of rewards, the winners of the tournament will receive a significant prize of $400,000, while the runners-up will take home $250,000. This financial incentive underscores the growing importance and recognition of women’s football in Africa.
