Ministry of Health and social welfare Commends Security Agencies for Rescuing Kidnapped Doctor and Nephew
The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare has praised the collaboration of security agencies in securing the release of Dr. Ganiyat Popoola and her nephew, Folaranmi Abdul-Mugniy, who were kidnapped for ten months.
In a statement released on Friday, Novemebr 1st by Alaba Balogun, the ministry’s Head of Information and Public Relations, the safe return of the abducted individuals was welcomed as a relief for the healthcare community, which has shown remarkable resilience during this challenging period.
The ministry expressed gratitude to the Defence Headquarters and the military personnel involved in the operation, recognizing their commitment to protecting citizens and also acknowledged the crucial role of various medical associations and professional bodies, whose advocacy efforts have been essential in supporting healthcare workers across the nation.
Furthermore, the ministry reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and protection of all healthcare workers in Nigeria.
