Minister of Defence Urges Collective Action Against West Africa’s Security Threats
Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Matawalle, emphasized the need for collective efforts to tackle security challenges in West Africa at the 43rd ECOWAS Committee of Chiefs of Defence Staff meeting in Abuja. He reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to regional security through military collaboration, intelligence sharing, and capacity building. Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, highlighted the gathering’s significance in strengthening regional cooperation, urging ECOWAS defence chiefs to remain committed to peace, stability, and development for a more secure and prosperous West Africa.
