Lagos Police Claim No Knowledge of Kidnapping and Murder Case Involving Federal University of Agriculture Student
The Lagos State police have stated that they are not officially aware of the kidnapping and murder of Christiana Idowu, a 300-level student from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesperson, confirmed that the case has not been reported to them as this development comes amid ongoing attention and concern about the incident.
Christiana Idowu was abducted in August while traveling from her home in Ikorodu to the University of Lagos, where she was undergoing industrial training. Reports indicate that her kidnappers initially demanded N3 million in ransom, which was eventually reduced to N350,000 after several negotiations.
The prime suspect in the case, Ayomide Adeleye, a 200-level student at Olabisi Onabanjo University, was located and arrested by the military as the suspect confessed to killing Idowu and burying her in a shallow grave. The case has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with users calling for justice using the hashtag #JusticeForChristianah.
