Labour Unions Reject Emergency Rule in Rivers, Threaten Nationwide Action
The Organized Labour in Rivers State has strongly opposed the declaration of emergency rule, calling it unconstitutional and warning of potential economic disruptions if not reversed as they stressed that political instability in Rivers State, a key economic hub, could escalate inflation, unemployment, and investor withdrawal. Urging adherence to constitutional processes, they called on the federal government to engage in dialogue and reinstate the suspended officials, warning of possible nationwide industrial action if their demands are ignored.
