Kwara United Coach Hails Players’ Resilience Despite 1-0 Loss to Shooting Stars

December 30, 2024

Kwara United head coach, Tunde Sanni, expressed disappointment after his team suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Shooting Stars of Ibadan (3SC) in the NPFL Matchday 19 fixture on Sunday, December 29th.

Despite the loss, Sanni praised his players for their resilience and effort throughout the match at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasigba, Ibadan.

He attributed the defeat to bad luck, noting that the goal conceded was an unexpected one, reflecting how easily such moments can turn a game. He emphasized that his players gave their best, dominating possession and playing with determination.

Despite their best efforts in the second half, Kwara United could not find the equalizer, and Shooting Stars held on to secure a clean sheet. The defeat left Kwara United in 12th place on the table with 23 points from 18 matches as they shift their focus to their upcoming match against Enyimba FC, with a two-week break before the second half of the season resumes in early 2025.
