Kwara Taskforce Begins Removal of Illegal Billboards in Ilorin

March 27, 2025

The Kwara State Taskforce Committee has started removing illegal billboards and signages across Ilorin, following the revocation of 2024 permits and a seven-day ultimatum. The move is part of the state’s Urban Renewal Program, aiming to keep the environment clean and organized as the Key locations targeted include Unity Road, Post Office, and Offa Garage. Furthermore, the Commissioner for Communications, Hon. Bolanle Olukoju noted that many billboard owners complied by removing their structures voluntarily as the government has warned of serious consequences for non-compliance, directing all billboard practitioners to suspend changing banners or signages until further notice.
