Kwara State Police Announce Vehicle Restrictions for Local Government Elections
The Kwara State Police Command has announced a restriction on all vehicular movement from 12:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, in relation to the upcoming Local Government Elections.
This measure aims to ensure the security and smooth conduct of the electoral process as exceptions will be made for individuals providing essential services, accredited electoral officials, authorized media personnel, among others.
CP Victor Olaiya, the Commissioner of Police of the Kwara State Police Command, has urged all residents to comply with this directive, warning that violations will be met with strict legal consequences.
Furthermore, the command has provided emergency contact lines for the public to address any complaints, observations, or irregularities at polling units as cooperation from residents is essential to maintaining peace and ensuring a fair and peaceful election.
