Kwara State Launches Livestock Entrepreneurship Program for Youths

The Kwara State Government has unveiled a new livestock entrepreneurship program aimed at training and funding young agripreneurs across the state. Announced by the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Mrs. Oloruntoyosi Thomas, during a visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Yikpata, the program will provide practical training, business support, and starter packs to participants, primarily targeting corps members but also open to other youths. Set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2025, the initiative is part of the state’s vision to transform Kwara into a hub of livestock innovation and rural prosperity. The program is supported by a public-private partnership and has received full backing from NYSC officials and local traditional leaders, reinforcing the government’s commitment to youth empowerment and agricultural development.
