Kwara state government Unveils Prototype for Multi-Storey Hospital Complex to Enhance Healthcare Access
The Kwara State Government, led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has unveiled the prototype for a new multi-storey hospital complex at the Civil Service Clinic in Ilorin.
This initiative aims to enhance access to quality and timely healthcare services for residents as the state-of-the-art facility is part of a broader effort to address the increasing demand for secondary health services in the state’s capital.
The new hospital complex will replace the existing structure with a larger, modern facility, thereby alleviating the pressure on the General Hospital Ilorin, now known as Kwara State University Teaching Hospital.
This development is expected to improve healthcare accessibility for the growing population, reducing the number of patients relying on the older facility for medical services.
Governor AbdulRazaq’s significant investment in the health sector over the past five years has not only improved the quality of healthcare services but has also garnered praise from Kwarans and health professionals. His administration has prioritized enhancing the state’s healthcare infrastructure, ensuring that facilities meet modern standards.
In 2023, the governor approved new hazard and skipping allowances for medical doctors, along with a full 100% CONMESS payment to motivate health workers. Furthermore, he has overseen the renovation of several hospitals that were in poor condition when he took office in 2019, underscoring his commitment to improving health services across the state.
