Kwara State Government Launches Operation Alanu Tide to Boost Highway Security
The Kwara State Government, led by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has partnered with the Nigerian Air Force 303 Composite Group to launch Operation Alanu Tide (OAT), a strategic initiative designed to address security concerns along the Ogbomosho-Ilorin highway.
The operation was officially inaugurated in a ceremony attended by key officials, including Group Captain Ibrahim and Squadron Leader OS Hakeem, along with other notable representatives from the governor’s office.
This initiative underscores the state’s dedication to enhancing safety and protecting residents from escalating security threats on this vital route, which serves as a crucial corridor for both commuters and trade.
Furthermore, it aims to create a safer environment for travelers and businesses operating in the region, responding to growing concerns about security challenges in the area and to ensure the safety and well-being of the citizens of Kwara State
As part of the launch, a physical inspection of the security forces was conducted, which includes local hunters who have been co-opted into the operation. These local hunters expressed their commitment to the initiative, vowing to do everything possible to eliminate security threats along the highway. Their involvement highlights the importance of community participation in tackling security issues effectively.
