Kwara Smart City to House 540,000 Residents Says Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq

The Kwara State Government has approved a N10,000 increase in monthly pensions for all pensioners, effective from May 2025, following an agreement with the Joint Public Service Negotiating Council. The finance commissioner, Dr. Hauwa Nuru disclosed in a statement issued by the Ministry’s Press Secretary, Babatunde Toyin Abdulrasheed, that most pensioners have yet to complete mandatory registration with the state’s resident agency, despite year-long advocacy as the government is now limiting payments to verified individuals and has uncovered payroll fraud linked to a cartel, which is under police investigation.
