Kwara Shea Butter Factory to Create Over 10,000 Jobs

May 12, 2025

The Kwara State Government says the ongoing construction of the Kaiama Shea Butter Factory will generate over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs. Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Afees Alabi, disclosed this during a site visit to the facility, describing it as a major boost to the local economy and a key step in the state’s agro-industrial drive. Dr. Alabi said the factory will engage stakeholders across the shea value chain, especially women and youths in rural areas, while also attracting investments and boosting Kwara’s non-oil exports. He noted that the project aligns with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s vision of inclusive growth, sustainability, and industrial development
