Kwara Scales Up Student Coding Initiative to 7,500 Participants

Kwara State Government has launched a new phase of its Coding and Digital Literacy Programme, targeting no fewer than 7,500 students across 50 public secondary schools. The initiative, which began in 2024 with just 684 students, is part of the state’s push to become a leading hub for technology and innovation. Special Assistant to the Governor on Digital Innovations, Hon. Kayode Ishola, said the programme goes beyond tech skills, aiming to prepare a future workforce for Africa. He added that the initiative aligns with the recent commissioning of the Ilorin Innovation Hub, designed to support startups and young digital creators.
