Kwara Residents Urged to Support Government’s Development Initiatives.
Residents of Kwara State have been urged to support government initiatives aimed at transforming the state and making it economically viable. Speaking at a public lecture organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in honor of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, themed “Legacy of Leadership: Examining the Long-Term Impact of Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq’s Governance on Kwarans,” the State Commissioner for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Afees Abolore, emphasized that ongoing urban renewal and infrastructural projects are designed to enhance the socioeconomic well-being of the people.
He encouraged residents to leverage the inclusive governance initiative to contribute to state development, adding that the administration has addressed inherited infrastructural deficits while laying a strong foundation for the future.
Despite challenges such as inherited debts and the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Abolore noted that the state’s economy has been stabilized. Professor Yusuf Badmas, represented by Dr. Abdulhamid Badmas, commended the governor’s leadership and urged for more educational projects, while the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mallam Rafiu Ajakaye, assured residents of the government’s commitment to further progress. NUJ Kwara State Council Chairman, Mallam Ahmed Abdullateef, also called on wealthy individuals to support government efforts, describing the state’s development as “unprecedented” and aligning with the aspirations of its people.
