Kwara Renews Commitment to Gender Equity in Finance
The Kwara State Government has renewed its commitment to gender equity and women’s empowerment, particularly within the finance sector. Speaking at a conference at the University of Ilorin, Commissioner for Finance, Dr. Hauwa Nuru, praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s efforts in promoting female inclusion, citing the state’s landmark female-majority cabinet and the 35% gender representation law. Dr. Nuru also highlighted key female appointments, including Mrs. Shade Omoniyi as the first female head of the state’s revenue service. She assured that the administration will continue creating opportunities for women, noting that their participation is vital to societal growth.
