Kwara PDP Councillorship Candidates Condemn Alleged Electoral Fraud by KWSIEC, APC
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State have condemned what they described as the “blatant disregard for democratic principles” during the September 21, 2024, local government elections.
Speaking at a press conference organized by the 2024 PDP Councillorship Candidates’ Forum, the forum’s chairman, Comrade Muftau Aromaradu, encouraged members not to be discouraged but to focus on mobilizing support for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Aromaradu expressed the forum’s dissatisfaction with the outcome of the September 21 election conducted by the Kwara State Electoral Commission (KWASIEC) but stressed the need for unity and resilience among party members. He assured supporters that the forum has been working tirelessly since the election to reposition the PDP for future victories, emphasizing the importance of collective effort to reclaim the state from the ruling party.
During the press conference, the PDP criticized the Kwara State government’s implementation of the new minimum wage, describing it as inadequate. The party argued that applying a flat rate salary increase across all levels of workers does not address the financial realities faced by many employees and fails to ensure fair compensation.
