Kwara Nurses Issue 15-Working Day Ultimatum Over Welfare Demands

The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Kwara State Council, has issued a 15-working day ultimatum to the state government to address key welfare concerns or face industrial action. The association, in a letter to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, dated April 15, 2025, listed demands including the implementation of the Federal Government-approved entry point for graduate nurses, a 25 percent salary review, correction of call duty allowance anomalies, and the recruitment of more nurses to address the shortage of personnel in hospitals across the state. The association noted that despite several communications, these issues remain unresolved, causing growing dissatisfaction among its members. The nurses have urged the government to act swiftly to improve the welfare and working conditions of healthcare professionals in the state.
