Kwara Govt Enforces Restrictions for Monthly Sanitation Exercise on Saturday

The Kwara State Government has announced restrictions on vehicular and pedestrian movements across the state as part of the monthly sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2025.
According to a statement released on Monday by the Press Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Shakirat Muritala, the exercise will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m.
Residents are encouraged to actively participate by cleaning their residential and business premises. The government has arranged for waste collection trucks to ensure proper disposal at approved dump sites.
The statement also emphasized the illegality of dumping refuse on pedestrian walkways, roadsides, drainages, canals, or any unauthorized locations, warning that such actions are punishable under the environmental law.
The government further cautioned that any obstruction or interference with officials performing their duties during the exercise will be addressed according to the law.
