Kwara Government Warns Coaching Centers Against Poaching Students from Public Schools

The Kwara State Government has issued a stern warning to coaching center proprietors against recruiting students from public schools under the pretense of preparing them for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).
Saka Yusuf, the Executive Director of the Agency for Mass Education, expressed concern over the ongoing violations of regulations by some coaching centers, despite the government’s efforts to raise awareness. He emphasized that taking students from schools and registering them as conventional students at coaching centers is unacceptable and a violation of the state’s education ordinance.
Yusuf further warned that such actions could disrupt students’ academic progress and jeopardize their futures, urging proprietors to support, rather than undermine, the government’s efforts to improve education standards in the state. The government reiterated its commitment to enforcing education policies and stated that violators would face consequences.
