Kwara Government Shuts Two Secondary Schools After Student Violence

The Kwara State Government has ordered the immediate closure of Government High School and Government Day Secondary School in Adeta, Ilorin, following violent clashes among students that disrupted academic activities and caused property damage. The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the closure aims to restore order and protect students and staff. However, students sitting for the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations will be allowed to complete their exams, provided they have valid school IDs. Parents and guardians have been urged to keep their children at home, with security officials warned to arrest any students found violating the directive.
