Kwara Government Reaffirms Commitment to Empowering Persons Living with Disabilities

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWD) through various initiatives aimed at improving their well-being. During a courtesy visit from PLWD executives, Commissioner for Social Development, Hon. Mariam Nnafatima Imam, highlighted plans to digitalize PLWD operations for better donor support and reiterated the state’s annual provision of mobility aids. She also announced efforts to renovate the fire-damaged Amoyo Rehabilitation Centre and reaffirmed the administration’s dedication to inclusive policies. Special Adviser Hon. Soliu Habeeb Baba Olaoye and other officials praised the Commissioner’s proactive approach, while PLWD representative Mallam Kehinde Abdulsalam thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his ongoing support, urging further action to address challenges such as inadequate facilities for blind pupils at the School of Special Needs.
