Kwara Government Moves to Address Oil Spillage in Ifelagba Community

The Kwara State Government has launched an urgent investigation into an oil spillage that has contaminated four wells and a borehole in Ifelagba community, Sobi, Alagbado, Ilorin East LGA. The Honourable Commissioner for Business, Innovation, and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, alongside officials from the Ministry of Environment, visited the area and assured residents of swift government action to safeguard public health and the environment. During the visit, the Commissioner ordered the temporary closure of Rainoil Filling Station along Lare-Gada, Sobi Road, as part of precautionary measures. Meanwhile, community chairman Alhaji Ajadi AbdulAzeez thanked the state government for its prompt response, while the Ministry of Environment promised a thorough investigation to uncover the root cause of the contamination.
