Kwara Government Moves Against Street Trading in Ilorin
The Kwara State Government has reiterated its ban on street trading along major roads and walkways within Ilorin metropolis. The affected areas include Emir’s Road, Zulu Gambari Road, Post Office Area, Isale Oja, and Idi Ape — all of which were recently upgraded to ease traffic and enhance safety. In a statement from the Ministry of Works, signed by the Assistant Press Secretary, Abdulquadri Kayode Ahmed, the government warned that anyone found trading in these locations will face legal action, as task forces and security agencies have been mobilised to enforce the directive.
