Kwara Government Flags Off Farm Input Distribution in Kaiama

June 19, 2025

The Kwara State Government has launched the distribution of farm inputs to farmers in Apata Alaje, Banni Community, Kaiama LGA, as part of efforts to boost food production and promote livestock development.

The initiative, led by the Ministry of Livestock Development in collaboration with Arzikin Noma and international partner IDH, targets sorghum and soybean cultivation to support animal feed production and reduce farmer-herder conflicts. A total of 18,000 bags of fertilizer, 6,000 liters each of three agrochemicals, 75 metric tons of sorghum seed, and 100 metric tons of soya seed will be distributed, with stakeholders expressing optimism about its impact on food security, job creation, and agricultural industrialization in the state.
