Kwara Government Engagest Reaffirms Commitment to Quality Tertiary Education

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing tertiary education, engaging with the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU) to address key concerns. Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, assured COEASU of ongoing efforts to improve staff welfare and strengthen the college system, highlighting the establishment of the Kwara State University of Education as a step towards expanding opportunities. COEASU chairman, Comrade Yahaya Ndagi, acknowledged the government’s support but emphasized the need for a clear transition framework for the Kwara State College of Education. Recognized by the NUC in July 2024, the university’s leadership, led by Professor Shuaib Oba AbdulRaheem, was inaugurated in November to oversee its development.
