Kwara Government Cracks Down on Unauthorized Motor Parks over Safety Concerns
The Kwara State Government has issued a stern warning to commercial road transporters to avoid unauthorized motor parks or face legal consequences. This directive, given by the State Commissioner for Transportation, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Korasabi, followed an inspection with the State Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO) and Kwara Road Traffic Management Authority (KWARTMA) in Ilorin. The inspection covered key areas like Post-Office, Challenge, and Offa Garage, with officials stressing the importance of using government-approved motor parks. The government is also working to establish a database of recognized garages to enhance security and improve transport system coordination. Commuters have been urged to prioritize their safety by using only government-monitored parks.
