February 12, 2025

First Lady of Kwara State and Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors Spouses Forum, Prof. Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has called for stronger collaboration among NGOs in the state to advance sustainable development goals. During a courtesy visit by the Kwara NGO Team at the Government House in Ilorin, she emphasized the need for proper coordination, registration, and capacity-building initiatives for NGOs. She also urged collective efforts to combat female genital mutilation, highlighting Kwara as one of the states with high cases. The Kwara NGO Team, led by Adeleke Adebayo, presented their annual work plan, including various community-driven programs aligned with the SDGs. Commissioners for Social Development, Water Resources, Solid Minerals, and Business Innovation commended the First Lady’s impactful initiatives through the Ajike People’s Support Centre, advocating for the inclusion of all senatorial districts in NGO activities. Senior Special Assistant on SDGs, Dr. Mariam Imam, affirmed that arrangements were in place to convene a stakeholder meeting to enhance collaboration and maximize impact across the state.
