The Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board (KWSUBEB) has announced the successful shortlisting of 1,811 applicants following a recruitment process that attracted over 55,000 candidates from across the state.
The successful applicants consist of 1,500 teachers, predominantly in STEM subjects, and 311 non-teaching staff, including drivers, security guards, and office assistants. These personnel will be deployed to schools across the 16 local government areas in Kwara State.
Meanwhile, the recruitment process has been meticulously organized, with different days allocated for the documentation of successful applicants based on their geographical regions. Applicants from Kwara North began their documentation on January 6, 2025, followed by those from Kwara South on January 7, and finally, those from Kwara Central will complete their documentation on January 8, 2025.
In his statement, KWSUBEB Chairman, Prof. Sheu Raheem Adaramaja, highlighted the board’s focus on hiring candidates who are committed to remaining in their assigned areas, particularly in rural communities as this approach is aimed at addressing the staffing shortages in remote areas and improving the quality of education in those regions by ensuring that qualified personnel are available to meet the needs of students in more underserved locations.
