Kwara Corrections Controller Calls for Urgent Relocation of Custodial Center

The Controller of Corrections, Kwara State Command, CC Famuwagun Oyeniran, has called for better living conditions for inmates due to overcrowding and poor infrastructure in custodial centers. During a visit to the Chief Judge, Justice Abiodun Adebara, he highlighted inadequate logistics, poor access roads, and the dilapidated bridge leading to Mandala Custodial Center. He also noted congestion at Okekura Custodial Centre and suggested relocating the facility to a more spacious location. Emphasizing that most inmates are Kwarans, he urged the Chief Judge to support improvements that would aid rehabilitation and the swift dispensation of justice. In response, Justice Adebara acknowledged the concerns and assured his support for better logistics and justice administration in the state.
