Kebbi Governor Calls for Military Base After Deadly Attack in Arewa LGA
Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has urged the Federal Government to establish a military base in Arewa Local Government Area to enhance security after a deadly attack by suspected Lakurawa group members. During his visit to an IDP camp in Kangiwa, he expressed grief over the March 9 attack that claimed 11 lives and saw seven villages—Dogon Daji, Danmarke, Yar Goru, Tambo, Birnin Debi, Garin Nagoro, and Garin Rugga—razed by armed assailants. He emphasized that a military presence would improve response times to distress calls from remote villages and help prevent future attacks.
