Kano Judicial Service Commission Takes Action Against Court Staff for Misconduct

April 28, 2025

The Kano State Judicial Service Commission has taken disciplinary action against two court registrars and two Upper Shari’a Court judges for misconduct. Following an investigation by the Judiciary Public Complaints Committee, Principal Registrars Ibrahim Adamu and Maigida Lawan were suspended without pay for six months for violence and accepting improper gratification, respectively. Meanwhile Judges Alkali Mansur Ibrahim and Nasiru Ahmad received formal warnings for using abusive language and displaying partiality in their judgments as the Judicial Service Commission emphasized its commitment to transparency, accountability, and zero tolerance for corruption, warning all court staff against engaging in corrupt practices.
