Iyabo Ojo Confirms EFCC Invitation Over Money Spraying at Daughter’s Wedding
Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has confirmed that she was recently invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over the spraying of naira and foreign currency at her daughter’s wedding. Speaking via Instagram, the actress said she honoured the invitation upon her return from the UK and met with EFCC officials, where she was questioned about her career and shown videos from the wedding event. Ojo revealed she was unaware that spraying any form of currency, including dollars, was illegal, believing only the abuse or mutilation of the naira was an offense. She was released the same day after her lawyer, O.I. Salami, stood in for her and may be called back for further questioning. The actress has since advised Nigerians to rethink the tradition of spraying money to avoid similar legal issues.
