Independent National Electoral Commission Announces Collection of Permanent Voter Cards Starts October 17 in Ondo State
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that eligible voters in Ondo State will begin collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) starting Thursday, October, 17th .
This update was shared by Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja.
According to INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee , the Permanent Voter Cards have been printed for all certified registrants following the conclusion of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) and subsequent data cleaning.
A total of 89,777 new PVCs have been produced, which includes 58,708 for new voters and 31,069 for those requesting transfers, updates, or replacements of lost or damaged cards.
Eligible voters can collect their PVCs at 221 designated centers throughout the state. The distribution will take place in all 203 wards from Thursday, October 17, to Monday, October 21, 2024. Additionally, the 18 Local Government Area offices will serve as collection points from Wednesday, October 23, to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, operating daily from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
INEC urges registered voters to collect their PVCs in person, as the policy prohibits proxy collection. Detailed information, including the addresses of the collection centers, has been made available on INEC’s website and social media platforms to assist voters in identifying their designated locations.
