IGP Orders Heightened Security Across Nigeria for Festive Season
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun has ordered heightened security measures nationwide during the festive period to ensure public safety and peace.
In a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP directed police operatives to intensify patrols and enhance security in areas hosting festive events and gatherings.
The IGP also urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and adopt safety precautions during the celebrations. “As we partake in the spirit of giving this Christmas, let us also embrace one another and align with the doctrines of the season. Together, we can ensure that this festive season is not only cheerful but also safe for all,” he said.
Extending warm holiday greetings on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, Egbetokun wished citizens a joyous and memorable festive season.
“As we commemorate this special season, it is vital to prioritize safety and well-being. The Force remains committed to ensuring that communities across the country remain secure as the celebrations unfold,” the statement concluded.
