Governor Sanwo-Olu Commissions Ultra-Modern School Facilities

The South-South Governors’ Forum has opposed the Federal Government’s six-month state of emergency in Rivers State, arguing that the political situation does not meet the constitutional conditions for such action. Led by Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri, the forum emphasized that emergencies should only be declared under extreme threats like war or public disorder. They insisted that political disputes between the governor and the House of Assembly should be resolved through legal and constitutional channels rather than executive intervention as the forum urged calm, constitutional adherence, and dialogue to restore stability.
