Governor Sanwo-Olu Commissions Major Infrastructure Projects in Alimosho
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, inaugurated five roads and a bridge in the Alimosho area on Monday, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to fostering sustainable development through improved infrastructure. He highlighted the completion of the Babafemi Dada link road and bridge, along with the Yinka Folarin, Jamiu Lawal, and Shalom Academy Road Network, as a testament to his government’s dedication to improving the lives of Lagosians with tangible action.
Governor Sanwo-Olu noted that the construction of these roads and the bridge addressed long-standing connectivity issues, particularly between the Igando and Ayobo communities. Before this intervention, residents relied on an unsafe wooden bridge, which was both precarious and costly. The new infrastructure improves safety and enhances access to economic opportunities by linking important routes like LASU-IBA and Condos roads, aligning with the state’s transportation master plan.
The governor also highlighted the broader economic benefits of the project, including job creation for over 342 individuals and indirect opportunities in various industries such as cement, steel, and solar light manufacturing. He emphasized that the infrastructure improvements would reduce commute times, mitigate flooding, and improve the quality of life for residents while boosting local economic activities and productivity in the region.
Sanwo-Olu urged the community to take pride in the new infrastructure and emphasized the importance of its maintenance. He called on the Community Development Associations (CDAs) to ensure that the roads and bridges are used responsibly and maintained to serve future generations.
