Governor Makinde Urges Military to Intensify Efforts Against Security Threats in 2025
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has urged the Nigerian military to step up its efforts in 2025 to tackle terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and other security challenges that threaten the nation’s economic progress.
His call was made during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Base Sociocultural Activities and Veterans’ Parley of the 655 Nigerian Air Force Station in Ibadan, the state capital.
Represented by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, Governor Makinde expressed his gratitude to the military for their significant role in maintaining peace and security in Oyo State throughout 2024.
Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the state government and the military to ensure the safety and well-being of residents in the region as he emphasized the need for intensified military actions in 2025 to address the growing security threats that could impede the country’s development and hinder economic progress.
