Governor Idris Visits Attack Sites, Vows Stronger Security Measures

June 25, 2025

In response to renewed bandit attacks that claimed 30 lives in Tadurga and Kyebu communities, the Kebbi State Government has announced plans to review its laws to introduce the death penalty or life imprisonment for informants aiding bandits.

Governor Nasiru Idris made this known during condolence visits to the affected areas, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to tackling insecurity. He revealed ongoing efforts including the establishment of an army base in Zuru Emirate, deployment of security equipment from Abuja, and provision of vehicles and motorcycles for security operatives as traditional rulers welcomed the governor’s visit and called for intensified security measures.
