Governor Adeleke Promises Better Life for Osun Workers, Lauded for Pro-Labour Initiatives
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has reiterated his commitment to the welfare of civil servants, pledging to implement programs that improve their quality of life.
Adeleke made this promise on Monday in Osogbo while addressing an enthusiastic crowd of workers who gathered at the State Secretariat, Abere, to celebrate the implementation of the N75,000 new minimum wage.
The workers, led by the state chairmen of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Abimbola Fasasi, and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Christopher Arapasopo, warmly received the governor, escorting him to his office at the Bola Ige House.
In his address, Adeleke expressed gratitude for the workers’ support and emphasized the importance of prioritizing their welfare.
“To me, every worker deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. The government must fully attend to the welfare of workers, especially the bureaucracy that is the engine room of governance,” he stated.
He also highlighted the centrality of the civil service to Osun’s economy, promising to deepen pro-worker policies as resources improve.
“With your support, I will push ahead with the implementation of our five-point agenda, for which workers’ welfare is number one. Together, we shall take Osun to greater heights,” Adeleke assured.
The governor’s remarks were met with glowing commendations from union leaders. NLC chairman Arapasopo hailed Adeleke’s administration for its achievements in workers’ welfare, declaring unwavering support for his leadership.
“Mr. Governor has made landmark achievements which touched the hearts and minds of Osun workers. We declare that come 2026, there is no vacancy in Abere Government House. Your exceptional performance has solidified our support,” Arapasopo said.
Similarly, TUC boss Fasasi described Adeleke as a “pro-labour governor,” affirming the unions’ steadfast backing.
The event underscores Adeleke’s growing popularity among workers and signals a promising trajectory for labor relations in Osun State.
