Governor AbdulRazaq Appoints Prof. Medinat Salman as Acting Vice Chancellor of Kwara State University of Education
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Governor of Kwara State has appointed Prof. Medinat Folorunsho Salman as the inaugural Acting Vice Chancellor of the newly established Kwara State University of Education (KWSUED) in Ilorin.
Her appointment was confirmed in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye.
Prof. Salman, a distinguished professor of mathematics education, was previously a senior lecturer in the Department of Science Education and served as the coordinator of the Educational Technology Centre at the University of Ilorin.
She earned her Bachelor of Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1985, followed by a Master’s degree in Mathematics Education at the University of Ilorin in 1990. In 1998, she completed her doctoral degree in Mathematics Education at the same institution. Notably, she is recognized as the first female professor from Ilorin Emirate.
Prof. Salman’s research interests focus on mathematics education, gender issues in mathematics and science education, and innovative practices in mathematics education within developing countries.
