Flamingos Depart for Dominican Republic Training Ahead of FIFA U17 World Cup

October 2, 2024

Nigeria women’s national under-17 football team, the Flamingos have departed from Nigeria on Tuesday for a two-week training tour in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic.

This trip is in preparation for the upcoming FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup, which will take place from October 16 to November 3, 2024.

Nigeria has been placed in Group A alongside the host nation, the Dominican Republic, as well as Ecuador and New Zealand.

Bankole Olowookere, who previously led the team to a third-place finish at the last FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup in India, is optimistic about their performance in the Dominican Republic. He has assembled a 21-player squad for this tournament, focusing on building a competitive team to secure success.
