Other notable players include first-choice goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma, defenders Taiwo Adegoke, Jumai Adebayo, and Prisca Nwachukwu, as well as midfielder Farida Abdulwahab. Forwards Harmony Chidi, Peace Effiong, and Janet Akekoromowei have also been included in the squad.
The Flamingos have been placed in Group B for the WAFU B U17 Girls’ Cup, where they will face the U17 girls teams from Cote d’Ivoire and Niger Republic. In Group A, hosts Ghana will compete against the U17 girls teams from Burkina Faso and Benin Republic. The competition is set to run for two weeks, offering the Flamingos another opportunity to showcase their talent on the continental stage.
The invited players are expected to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State, on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, to begin preparations for the tournament. The team is focused on building on their previous success and aiming for a strong performance in Ghana.
