Fire Breaks Out at Newly Constructed Ikwere LG Secretariat in Rivers state
The newly constructed council secretariat in Isiokpo, located in the Ikwerre Local Government Area, has been set on fire according to reports
Although, the police authorities have not issued any comments regarding the fire, and the extent of the damage to the Isiokpo secretariat remains unclear. The situation has raised concerns in the community, especially considering the timing of these incidents.
The fires occurred shortly after the commissioner of police ordered the withdrawal of police officers assigned to secure the 23 council secretariats in the state as this decision has left many questioning the safety and security of these vital administrative buildings.
These incidents come in the wake of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s recent swearing-in of new chairmen in Rivers State, highlighting a turbulent start for the new administration.
