Fire at Spanish Retirement Home Claims 10 Lives
Villafranca de Ebro, Spain – A devastating fire erupted overnight at a retirement home in the northeastern town of Villafranca de Ebro, claiming the lives of at least 10 residents. The Aragon regional emergency services confirmed the fatalities in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) but did not provide additional details. Reports indicate that 82 residents were inside the home when the fire started.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which has drawn widespread concern over safety standards in elderly care facilities.
