FG Launches Creative Economy Development Fund to Boost Nigerian Creatives

May 5, 2025

The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy has launched the Creative Economy Development Fund (CEDF) to provide tailored financial support, including loans, grants, and equity funding, to creatives, entrepreneurs, and organizations in Nigeria’s creative sector. This initiative aims to foster job creation, and economic diversification while enhancing Nigeria’s global cultural influence as the Creative Economy Development Fund offers various funding options to support industries such as film, music, fashion, art, gaming, and cultural tourism, with applications opening in phases, starting with projects seeking over 100,000 dollars and followed by smaller enterprises as the fund will be managed by an independent investment committee, with disbursements beginning in 2026.
