Federal Government Reaffirms Commitment to Sustainable Development Goals for Nigeria’s Growth
The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing their significance for the socio-economic growth of Nigeria.
This commitment was articulated by Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on SDGs, in a statement provided to the media.
Princess Orelope-Adefulire highlighted Nigeria’s resilience and growth over the years, noting a collective determination to uplift the nation through inclusive development as she pointed out that the Sustainable Development Goals play a crucial role in addressing urgent challenges such as poverty, hunger, and inequality, which continue to affect many Nigerians.
The SDGs offer a framework for creating a more equitable and sustainable society, and as the nation marks its independence, Orelope-Adefulire called for a renewed commitment to achieving these goals by 2030, ensuring that no one is left behind in the process.
In partnership with various stakeholders, the SSAP-SDGs has been rolling out impactful programs across Nigeria, focusing on education, healthcare, and environmental sustainability as She urged all Nigerians to collaborate in these efforts, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among government, the private sector, and civil society to successfully achieve the SDGs.
