Federal Government Moves to Reform Land Administration for Sustainable Development

Vice President Kashim Shettima has announced the Federal Government’s commitment to establishing a sustainable land administration system, emphasizing the need to reform the 48-year-old Land Use Act. Speaking at the National Land Conference 2025 in Abuja, he highlighted systemic challenges hindering land management and the necessity for policy amendments. The administration has initiated reform task teams and proposed a National Land Commission to streamline access to land adopting sustainable land management to drive Nigeria’s development.
